History
Proteger Foundation was born in 1999 from the dream of a group of visionaries who shared an ambitious goal: securing international funding for socio-humanitarian development projects to benefit the most vulnerable communities. Among them, Dr. Marcelo Robalino stood out as a key figure in drafting the foundation’s statutes and establishing the organization.
Over the years, this project transcended borders. In 2005, the foundation was legally established in the United States, specifically in Florida, while also receiving official recognition in Ecuador, opening its international office in the city of Riobamba. This expansion marked a milestone in the organization’s history, paving the way for cooperation agreements and strategic alliances with international entities, including a prestigious European firm.
The journey was not easy. Behind every achievement were personal sacrifices, challenges, and difficult moments. However, perseverance, faith, and the support of a multidisciplinary team of professionals in Ecuador and the U.S. made it possible for this dream to become a reality.
Today, Proteger Foundation has become a bridge between social needs and global funding opportunities, channeling international resources toward projects that directly impact the quality of life of thousands of Ecuadorian families.
With a strong commitment to the future, the foundation will continue working to promote the country’s socio-economic development, reaffirming that with vision, discipline, and conviction, collective dreams can transform into initiatives that change realities.
